The 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is no ordinary truck. It utilizes shock absorbers that are meant for Formula 1 race cars. In other words, the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 will take you flying at fast speed.
The high-quality shock absorbers on the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 will make sure any drive over any surface will be as smooth as possible. They will also keep the truck protected from the possible damage of driving over rough surfaces such as potholes, rough roads, bumpy rocks, and even sand dunes. In other words, the Colorado ZR2 is the perfect pick-up truck for your off-road adventures.
As Extreme Tech noted, the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 has been raised by a couple of inches and utilizes 31-inch high Goodyear DuraTrac tires which are an inch more than what was used on the Colorado ZR71. The mid-sized truck also comes with two skid plates up front. The most intriguing feature, however, remains the Formula 1-styled shock absorbers. The said special feature is courtesy of Multimatic, the Canadian company that supplies various parts to Formula 1 and other race series.
Car and Driver also pointed out that the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 comes with a better and more attractive design. It is fitted with new bumpers at both front and back while the plastic trim surrounding the wheel wells are made a little bit wider than before. The bulging hood and fender flares give the ZR2 a beefier and rougher aesthetic.
Inside the tough-looking Colorado ZR2 is a V-6 gas engine that pumps out 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. The ZR2 could be better off with a more powerful engine especially one that is designed for off-road driving.
The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 can be owned for a base price of $40,995. The ZR2 is almost $7,000 more expensive than the 4x4 version of the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado Z71.
