Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 coming to HTC One X soon

HTC launched the One X at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Feb. 2012 and the handset came running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) with HTC Sense 4 on top. The handset received Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and now rumors suggest that the smartphone will receive Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software update and HTC Sense 5 soon.

HTC has officially announced that the One X will get HTC Sense 5; however, the company has not confirmed an exact date when the latest UI will be available. With rumors circling that the HTC One X will get Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, many market observers believe that both the UI and the software update will arrive on the One X at the same time.

Recently, HTC developer and leakster, @LlabTooFeR was asked via a tweet "I have the Htc One X, dyu think ill be getting the Sense 5 & Jelly Bean 4.2 update soon?" The developer responded "Before the end of the summer you will have it," hinting that the software update will arrive to One X customers in July or August this year.

A GottaBeMobile report suggests that French carrier SFR is expecting to roll out Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update to the HTC One X in July. If rumors are to be believed then the unbranded versions of the HTC One X will receive Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 in mid-July. However, carriers have their own software release date, which they will announce as soon they finish their testing.

The HTC One X is just over a year old and many customers on a two-year contract will still be using the handset. As such, many customers will be eagerly waiting for their device to get the software update.

HTC has not officially announced Android 4.2 Jelly Bean rollout date for the One X. But with so many rumors surfacing in the smartphone space, it seems that the software update will hit the One X very soon.
