'Final Fantasy 14' Deep Dungeons Confirmed: Patch 6.0 Updates Teased

"Final Fantasy 14" director Naoki Yoshida just confirmed that Deep Dungeons will be coming back to the game! The update will be released in one of the 6.0 series patches.

"Final Fantasy 14" is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix. This game is extremely popular among fans because of its fictional settings and immersive gameplay.

Despite its appeal, many gamers have been asking for more content like Deep Dungeons. Naoki Yoshida acknowledged this issue at the recent "Final Fantasy 14" Fan Festival in Korea.

Yoshida said he heard "many individuals world wide needed extra deep dungeons," per Pro-Gamer. He then announced that the roguelike missions will be returning in one of the patch 6.0 series.

Unfortunately, Yoshida did not elaborate on its exact release date. But since the first of the 6.0 patch is scheduled for release next month, Deep Dungeons might return sometime in March.

A Twitch streamer also posted the announcement on Twitter, emphasizing that developers "will bring back a new deep dungeon series starting in the 6.X patches."

Many fans immediately commented on their excitement. Note that since "Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker" was just released last month, the incoming update might be linked to the new storyline.

One fan said they were considering "taking time off work" in exchange for a high-quality gaming experience.


Twitter user Bambi pleaded Deep Dungeons should be based on Area 5.

  Another fan hoped developers will also bring back "beast tribe alliance quests" soon.


One fan cheered on the incoming update, which could help break the monotony of grinding.

'Final Fantasy 14' 6.0 Deep Dungeon Explained

For reference, roguelike games are multi-floor challenges that players can enter to earn rewards and level up. According to GamesRadar, it can usually be played solo or party.

Deep Dungeons can be a lot of fun but also be warned it can get very challenging. Note that whenever a player dies, they are brought back to the first floor and the whole game will be reset.

Unfortunately, developers did not share what to expect from the Deep Dungeon enemies. Hopefully, more updates will be revealed the closer it gets to the release date.

'Final Fantasy 14' Bans RMT Activities

It is also worth mentioning that "Final Fantasy 14" is actively cleaning up its system for unauthorized activities. According to NME, developers are banning players who participate in "real money trading (RMT) and other illicit activities (that) upset the balance of the game and, as such, are prohibited under the Terms of Service."

Developers are asking for help from players to report any signs of these circumstances. Players can file their report by going to the in-game command "System Menu," "Support Desk," "Contact Us," and "Report Cheating." Developers hope that banning these gamers can help improve their community.
