Verizon to launch HTC One on Aug. 1 and Moto X on Aug. 23?

If a leaked roadmap is to be believed, the HTC One will finally hit Verizon's network on Aug. 1, followed by the Moto X on Aug. 23.

The HTC One made its debut in April this year and has reached all major carriers in the U.S. apart from Verizon. The carrier has confirmed its belated plans to offer the latest HTC flagship but has not announced a release date for the handset. Similarly, Motorola has also confirmed that it's working on a new handset called the Moto X, but remains silent on the launch date of the smartphone.

"It's coming - the HTC One will be available on the #Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network later this summer," Verizon tweeted at the beginning of June.

A leaked roadmap purportedly revealing the carrier's plans for the next several weeks now suggests that Verizon customers won't have to wait long to get their hands on the HTC One or the upcoming Moto X.

"The Motorola Moto X will launch from Verizon on August 23rd. From what we know about the phone, those ordering it online will be able to pick a color for the back cover and another color for the trim. The phone can also be engraved on the back. However, if you go into a retailer to buy the phone, you will have to buy a standardized version in black," reads a report from Phone Arena, who claims it received the roadmap from an anonymous tipster.

Rumors of the Verizon version of HTC One have been making their way in the smartphone space ever since the handset made its official debut. Verizon is notoriously late compared to other carriers, but it gets the job done in the end.

The HTC One comes running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system and select international models of the handset have received Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Other rumors have indicated that the Verizon version of the handset will come packed with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, but nothing is confirmed.

The HTC One and Moto X arriving on Verizon is no doubt good news for Big Red customers. However, with no official confirmation from the carrier, take the rumors with a pinch of salt and wait for an official announcement from the carrier.
