One shared post in Truth Social caused a mess on the social media platform. The person behind it? No other than former U.S. President Donald Trump.
This weekend, former President Trump sent the social media platform Truth Social into chaos when he "reTruthed" a comment that appeared to suggest a civil war in America in response to inflation.
What Did the Controversial Post Say?
Trump shared a post from Truth Social user named "MAGA King Thanos," who commented "civil war" on a screenshot of a March 19 tweet from El Salvador's president, Nayib Bukele.
The screengrabbed tweet of Bukele was posted to Truth Social by former Fox Nation host Lara Logan. It was then shared by MAGA King Thanos with a "civil war" comment.

The remarks of El Salvador's president came in response to a Bloomberg tweet on coping with inflation in the U.S. if one earns under $300,000 a year, according to Business Insider.

Trump's Controversial Post Sparks Various Reactions
Conservative political activist George Conway, the husband of former Trump aide Kellyanne Conway reacted to Trump's re-post.
"Nothing to see here. Just a former president of the United States sharing a social media post advocating or predicting civil war in the United States. No biggie," Conway tweeted.
In addition, in an interview with CNN, Conway said Republicans were willing to look the other way from Trump's incendiary rhetoric because "They're terrified of him," as per Huffpost report.
Conway added: "But they're also terrified of a Republican base that's become increasingly radicalized. That actually does believe that people who politically disagree with them are a threat to the nation and therefore violence could be necessary to fight them off, and that's what we saw in this social media post."
According to Conway, the suggestion that somehow America is headed towards civil war, there should be a civil war, or something to that effect is appalling. It is even more appalling that it came from the former president of the United States who is the leading contender for the 2024 Republican nomination.
Rep. Adam Kinzinger, one of Trump's staunchest critics in the GOP was also swift to rebuke Trump's comment.
"Any of my fellow Republicans wanna speak out now? Or are we just wanting to get through 'just one more election first...?" Kinzinger tweeted.
Likewise, Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell also reacted to Trump's post. Swalwell tweeted that Trump wouldn't be "man enough" to fight in a civil war he called for, saying that the former president avoided being drafted for the Vietnam War.
According to HuffPost, Trump also didn't join protesters that he encouraged to march to the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. The protesters went on to raid the building in an effort to stop Congress' certification of the 2020 election, which Trump repeatedly and falsely told supporters was "stolen" from him.
