A docuseries about RapCaviar is coming to Hulu.
A docuseries from Spotify and Sony Pictures Television's IPC studio, inspired by the influential hip-hop playlist RapCaviar, will be coming to the streaming platform Hulu soon, as reported by The Holywood Reporter.
Entitled "RapCaviar Presents," it will explore major cultural topics. The docuseries will be taken from the perspectives of some of today's top hip-hop artists.
The docuseries will feature artists like Tyler, the Creator, Jack Harlow, Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat and Saweetie. There is no release date yet but the show is expected to debut on Hulu sometime later this year, according to Engadget.
Together with the New Year comes a new season for Hulu movies. A few big-named movies will soon be taken down from the streaming platform, including "Star Trek" and "Armageddon." Subscribers might want to check on the list of movies leaving the service before it is too late.
Docuseries' Name is Inspired by the Influential Playlist RapCaviar
The name of the show, "RapCaviar Presents," got its name from the influential playlist on Spotify. RapCaviar has a fan base of more than 14 million users.
First launched in 2015, the RapCaviar playlist is often credited with raising the careers of rising artists. Alongside other established artists, songs of these rising artists are selected to appear in the mix.
RapCaviar playlist is known for launching the careers of once unknown artists such as Migos, Lil Uzi Vert and Kyle.
For rising hip-hop artists, getting a track featured on RapCaviar is a big thing as it can quickly result in millions of streams. Moreover, it can draw the attention of record labels.
RapCaviar playlist is created by Tuma Basa. He is Spotify's global head of hip hop programming. Basa himself hand-picks the music.
The executive producer and creative director of "RapCaviar Presents" is Karam Gill ("Supervillain: The Making of Tekashi 6ix9ine").
The co-EPs are Av Accius ("Murder in the Thirst") and Marcus A. Clarke ("Blood Brothers: Malcolm X & Muhammad Ali").
Steve Rivo (You're Watching Video Music Box) serves as the showrunner while Gill, Keith McQuirter, Peter J. Scalettar, Farah X and Mandon Lovett serve as episodic directors.
Overseeing the creative for the "RapCaviar Presents" docuseries on behalf of their respective companies are Spotify executives Carl Chery and Liz Gateley, as well as IPC co-founders Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman.
