Spotify Google Nest Hub

Spotify is rolling out the real time lyrics feature on the Google Nest Hub and also on other Google Assistant Smart Displays.

The music streaming company did not make a formal announcement about releasing the feature to Google's devices. However, numerous users have reported having experienced the availability of Spotify's real-time lyrics feature.

According to The Verge, users can use this feature by touching this icon. When a song is selected, an icon representing lyrics will display in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

When users test this feature on Google Nest Hub, the full-screen media controls for Spotify now include a lyrics button that is located next to the heart in the lower-right corner of the screen.

When users tap anywhere on the screen, the background image will be replaced by scrolling text that will highlight the current line as the track continues.

The row of controls in the future appears as a transparent strip underneath the current row.

Assuming that the feature is already implemented on a user's device, the display on Spotify is also used to display a note when there are no words.

It will continue to be active even if a user changes the songs in their playlist unless they manually disable it.

Furthermore, users will also notice that as the song comes to an end, Spotify will display a quote crediting MusixMatch for the lyrics, "Licensed & Provided by MusixMatch."

Spotify's First Lyrics Feature

Spotify's real-time display of lyrics as a feature is a fairly new option that they have added to the platform. Although it is not that old, it is a feature that has been around for a couple of months since it was launched last year.

Spotify users in some countries in South America, Central America, and Asia were the only ones to have access to real-time lyrics when Spotify first launched its service.

In November of last year, it was enhanced so that it could be used all around the world. As a result, everyone now has the opportunity to sing karaoke or learn the lyrics to a new song.

According to Spotify, "lyrics are available to all free and premium users globally across iOS and Android devices, desktop, gaming consoles, and TV, so that millions of fans can connect with the music and artists they love on an even deeper level."

Through their partnership with Musixmatch, the option for users to sing along to their favorite songs, just like in karaoke, made it possible.

Musixmatch brought lyrics in real time to be accessible in the app through the vast majority of songs available on Spotify's extensive collection of songs.

The feature is accessible on Spotify Free as well as Spotify Premium accounts.
