Google Seen Not to Raise Prices for Pixel 7, 7 Pro Amid Record Inflation

As we pay more for our everyday needs facing record inflation, news that prices of latest, next-generation smartphones not going up are downright striking and remarkable.

Google has gone against the raging tide, and is reportedly set the offer the Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro at the same price of their predecessor models Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.

In a tweet, Android Police founder Artem Russakovskii claimed that the Pixel 7 will cost $599, while the Pixel 7 Pro will be priced at $899. This comes amidst pricing for the flagships iPhone 14 and Galaxy S22 begin at $799, which is also no different from their predecessor models.

This shows how Google, Apple, and Samsung follow the same pricing strategy this year not to turn off consumers with another high price tag. These pricepoints may have long been planned, given that it took years for these smartphone makers to map out and execute strategies for their flagships.

Yet, to make up for those obvious losses from their pricing strategy, they would peg higher prices for other related products, such as accessories and add-ons, or other services, such as content.
