NEW YORK, NY - OCTOBER 9: A guest takes pictures of the new Google Pixel 3 smartphone during a Google product release event, October 9, 2018 in New York City.

Customers have to wait for several months before getting their hands on the upcoming mobile device, but an eBay seller seems to have acquired its prototype earlier than everyone else.

The tech giant gave fans of the mobile device a first official glimpse of the upcoming Pixel 7 series during its packed Google I/O event, as per a news story by The Verge.

The initial unveiling of the phone during the keynote event showcases the new camera bar design of the next-gen Pixel. It also flaunted the various colorways Google offers once it hits the shelves in fall.

The event also confirmed that the Pixel 7 Pro has the second generation Tensor chip and the all-new Android 13.

A few weeks after the confirmation of the new Android phone, an alleged prototype showed up in the wild, sporting a similar design to what Google initially unveiled.

For instance, the prototype of what appears to be a Pixel Watch surprisingly popped out of nowhere in a restaurant.

This time around, an eBay listing claims to be selling the prototype of the upcoming flagship Android phone of Google, the Pixel 7.

Engadget highlights that the Pixel 7 prototype on eBay sure looks like what Google showcased during its I/O event.

The front design of the prototype phone is not far away from the appearance of its predecessor, the Pixel 6. The screen size still looks the same, and there is still a punch hole selfie camera on top of the display.

The distinction of the device begins to set itself apart from the Pixel 6 when we saw the rear of the prototype on eBay. It still has the Cyclops-like camera bar with two lenses, but it is now in an aluminum material — unlike the black design of its predecessor.

The eBay listing features a 128GB storage variant of the Pixel 7, suggesting that Google is still offering the said option.

Pixel 7 Prototype: Bidding Closed

The Verge notes that the eBay listing of the Pixel 7 prototype had a starting bid of $450, but there were no other bids.

In fact, the bidding has already closed down, preventing interested buyers from getting their hands on what appears to be another Google hardware prototype in the wild.
