Steam is Celebrating Its 20th Birthday With Massive Sale

In celebration of Steam's 20th birthday, Valve released fantastic deals, discounts, and even complimentary goodies for Steam users.

Steam's Two Decades of History 

Steam launched a dedicated blog post for its 20th anniversary. The post detailed the complete timeline of the platform since it launched in 2003. "Steam's success is a direct result of the players and developers around the world who use it," Steam wrote. 

When Valve introduced Steam, the company set its goal on giving game developers a platform to reach players and build audience directly. During its first year, OG players were able to witness the launch of Half-Life and Counter Strike in 2004, both of which remain popular up to this day. 

The rest became history as Steam continues to expand its game catalogue from various game developers around the world. The platform serve as the go-to game hub for gamers who are in search of their latest interest. No matter what genre it is, Steam got it for sure. 

Aside from games, Steam added features that focused on providing information and community for the gamers. For once, these gamers have the sense of belonging to a place with the people who share the same passion as them. 

Steam Celebrates With Discounts and Goodies 

For its birthday, Steam's main website stepped away from its usual blue palette and was replaced by a design that is familiar to its early days with green-ish color. This is to honor the long-time Steam users who has been with the community since then. 

Most of the popular games are on sale right now and can have up to 94 percent discount, so don't waste any time and grab these deals. Steam also posted some free goodies in the Points Shop which includes profile backgrounds, animated stickers, and animated avatars.
