Crunchyroll is Producing an Anime Series for Hit Webtoon 'True Beauty'

Crunchyroll announced that the popular webtoon series "True Beauty" will be an anime series in 2024.

'True Beauty' From Webtoon to Live-Action and Anime

"True Beauty" is a Korean webtoon series that got so popular it was adapted into a live-action series that spanned 16 episodes. After having such success both for the comic book and the series, Crunchyroll is now adapting it into an anime series. 

The story follows the protagonist Jugyeong who manages to transform herself through makeup after being bullied for so long. Along with her transformation, she transferred to a new school that is known for producing idols and has a unique True Beauty voting. 

Jugyeong will also entangle her fate with Suho Lee and SeoJun Han. "Will Jugyeong conquer it all or succumb to the pressures of the beauty-obsessed world around her? Dive into the world of "True Beauty" and let the drama unfold!" the synopsis stated.

Announcements at Crunchyroll Anime NYC 2023 Panel 

The announcement came as part of the Crunchyroll Anime NYC 2023 panel where it was revealed that the adaptation is already in the works. Moreover, the anime poster was unveiled during the event giving the fans a sneak peek at the art style of the show. 

The upcoming anime adaptation of "True Beauty" is produced by Korean Studio N and Cocktail Media. As of writing, Crunchyroll has yet to reveal more details about the series as the release date was not even specified yet. 

Aside from "True Beauty" fans can also expect various titles such as "Delusional Monthly Magazine" and "Senpai is an Otokonoko" to hit the platform by 2024. Meanwhile, "My Hero Academia UA HEROES BATTLE" is scheduled to be released on November 30.
