The Lenovo Tab S8 Android tablet with Intel inside is now available for purchase in the U.S., retailing for $200 at Best Buy.
Lenovo unveiled its Tab S8 back in early September, introducing the device as a thin and light tablet designed to run Google's latest Android 4.4 mobile operating system.
The Lenovo Tab S8 measures 7.62 mm (0.3 inches) in thickness and weighs in at 300 grams (10.58 ounces), which, according to the company, makes it "so light, you probably won't notice it in your bag when not in use."
The Tab S8 slate from Lenovo sports an 8-inch touch-screen with a high resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels for a quality visual experience, with IPS technology for wide-angle viewing.
"With its 8" high resolution (1920 x 1200) display, the TAB S8 delivers a vivid, colorful viewing experience - both indoors & outdoors. Under the hood, the Lenovo Tab S8 packs an Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. Other specs include 16GB of internal storage capacity, microSD support for additional memory of up to 64GB, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.6-megapixel front shooter, and dual front-facing speakers. A 4,290 mAh battery will keep things up and running, lasting for up to 7 hours on a single charge.
The Lenovo Tab S8 is not the highest-end tablet out there, but promises a fast and fluid performance and it comes with good specifications for its price tag. On the other hand, the 8-incher will have to face some notable rivals in this category of the tablet market, and it remains to be seen how it will fare.
The tablet still appears as "coming soon" on Lenovo's website, but interested customers can now purchase the Lenovo Tab S8 from Best Buy for $200. The slate is also available for in-store pickup.
