'Pokemon Go' News, Updates: Nintendo Reports 'Pokemon Go' Plus Release By September

Nintendo has announced on July 27 that "Pokemon Go" Plus will soon be released by September. The original release date was in the latter part of July.

The announcement was made via its official Twitter account. Niantic Labs did develop the "Pokemon Go" mobile game. However, the "Pokemon Go" Plus accessory is being directly produced by Nintendo. The standalone unit is expected to cost interested buyers around $35. The popularity of "Pokemon Go" has boosted the stocks of the Japanese game making company.

Nintendo said it needed more time to test the compatibility of the unit with the mobile app game, according to Polygon. The company spokesperson added that Niantic is currently updating the game and they want to make sure that the updates are included in the upcoming units. The upcoming "Pokemon Go" Plus can be used with either Android or Apple iOS devices.

The "Pokemon Go" Plus is a device that enables players to play the game even if their smartphones are not out in the open. Players can either wear it as a pin or strap it to their wrist. The unit communicates with the user's smartphone via Bluetooth. This can be a convenient way for players to save time and effort in their Pokemon hunt.

"Pokemon Go" Plus will warn players if there are Pokemon, including eggs or Pokestops close by. The alert will come either in the form of lights or vibrations or even both. Players can also catch the monster using the "Pokemon Go" Plus.

However, the player must have caught the same Pokemon before in order to have a chance catching the creatures. The user can also use a Pokeball with the accessory.

Polygon also reported that the pre-orders for the "Pokemon Go" Plus have already been filled up. Enterprising individuals are selling theirs at 300 percent markup.
