'Winds Of Winter' News & Spoilers: Book Will Have Lesser Deaths Than 'Game of Thrones' Season 6

Fans of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series are now highly anticipating and waiting for the release of "Winds of Winter." News reports claim that the book may not be able to be released within the year but is likely to be out by 2017 already.

The delay of the release of "Winds of Winter" has led to the fans anticipating the book more so than ever. Some of them even choose not to watch "Game of Thrones" so that they will not be spoiled by the storyline. However, the producers of the "Game of Thrones" claim that the plot of the HBO series is different from that of the book, as reported by Parent Herald.

For starter, the number of deaths in the book "Winds of Winter" is fewer than that of the HBO series, "Game of Thrones." The series has called many of the major characters of the story line and this information has let the fans assume that the same will happen on the book, however untrue.

George R.R. Martin confirmed some of the characters who are alive on his "Winds of Winter," as opposed to HBO's "Game of Thrones." iDigital Times reported that the deaths of the characters in the show is possibly led by budget reasons, in order to cut down on the size of their cast. Since the book will not be paying anyone for the lives of his characters, it is more likely that the book will keep most of the characters alive.

Some of the characters that Martin revealed to be alive on "Winds of Winter" are Stannis, Irri, Jhiqui, Mago, Pyp, Grenn, Shireen, Myrcella, Ser Barristan, and Hizdahr zo Loraq to name a few. in a previos interview, author George R.R. Martin revealed that there may be 3 major deaths on the book, killing off three major characters but does not give a hint as to who.
