'Pokemon GO' Update Lets Trainers Speak To Their Team Leaders

The battle amongst Team Valor, Team Mystic and Team Instinct has gotten strong between trainers, despite the total lack of interaction with their respective team members. All that is about to change, however, as Niantic rolls out a new update for "Pokemon GO." But in addition to simply seeing more of Candela, Blanche and Spark these team leaders also provide valuable information and advice regarding players' Pokemon.

What Is Pokemon Appraisal?

According to Business Insider, Niantic recently made the announcement for their "Appraisal" feature, which is accessible by clicking on the menu once on a certain Pokemon's page. In theory, the new feature is supposed to give trainers an in-depth understanding of their specific Pokemon. In the announcement that Niantic released, the company said that "Trainers will now be able to learn about a Pokémon's attack and defense capabilities from their Team Leader (Candela, Blanche or Spark) to determine which of their Pokémon have the most potential for battle."

Why Is This So Important?

With the amount of Pokemon that are available for catching in a day, it is easy to forget that each individual catch is different from the next, even though they are all Pidgeottos or Rattatas. Each monster in "Pokemon GO" has its own unique "individual values (IV)," which is made up of its particular statistics. These statistics no matter how similar the Pokemon seems at face value, can spell a world of difference in battle.

Why Now?

Reportedly, Niantic always had these unique statistics for each Pokemon, but just never had the avenue to present it. In fact, there have been third-party websites that allow trainers to calculate each IV. However, Niantic has brought in that same technology and placed it firmly within the borders of "Pokemon GO." Besides, who better to teach trainers about the specificities of Pokemon than the Team Leaders?

Is It Already Available?

According to Heavy, the update is not yet available to all "Pokemon GO" players, but Niantic will hatch it out to all trainers within the next few weeks.
