Overwatch players who want to get ahead of the game should take advantage of their character's hidden abilities. Some of them even have shields that can protect even their teammates.

Overwatch is a recent game release by Blizzard this year. It is a first person shooter (FPS) game that divides players into teams battling each other out via multiplayer network. Here are some tips for those who want to survive longer in the firefight, according to The Guardian.

1. Know the difference between Armor and Shield

It is important for players to know that their Armor does not usually generate with some exceptions. Fortunately, shields could be replenished.

Armor tends to minimize damage sustain by the wearer. A heavily armored character like D.Va is an ideal frontline attacker against Tracer or Soldier 76.

2. Zarya and her shield barrier

This female Russian soldier has more than just bulky muscles. She has the ability to generate a shield barrier that can absorb a great amount of damage. The shield could even protect friends within the barrier's vicinity. Even a very destructive blast from Rip-Tire or D.Va could scarcely damage a shield protected Zarya.

3. Mercy's healing ability

Mercy has the ability to heal herself. She can also hear her teammates as well. This ability works better if paired with other characters such Pharah.

4. Player should use their abilities once they have cooled down.

Cooldown is not infinite in Overwatch but expanded abilities do tend to recover quickly in the game. Players are encouraged to use them rather than risk getting killed off the game.

5. Ammo is free, use it soldier!

Fortunately precision firing is not needed in the Overwatch multiplayer match. Player only need to fire at anything that moves. There is no need to worry about running out of ammo since players are provided with an infinite supply. This could also keep characters from getting hurt or killed.
