The day and night cycle is also featured in "Pokemon Sun and Moon". "Pokemon Sun" will follow the clock on Nintendo 3DS while "Pokemon Moon" is to shift 12 hours. This may affect the Pokemon that can be caught as well as the story. Certain areas may have certain Pokemon depending on the time of the day.

The third Legendary in "Pokemon Sun and Moon" is rumored to be the mysterious Marshadow, which was copyrighted  along with Solgaleo and Lunala. Marshadow is also rumored to be an eclipse Pokemon that will act as a counterpart to Solgaleo and Lunala. The word "Null" means nothing which could mean an eclipse.

The "Pokemon Sun and Moon" Sept. 6 trailer also revealed Null, a new Pokemon which may be man-made as it has different parts to acclimate to varying environments. The official Pokemon site revealed that Null's mask is fitted to Type: Null's head which is a piece of equipment designed to control Null's latent powers. Null or Type: Null's existence and the description found in Pokemon's site was believed to be evidence that there is a lot more to the new Pokemon than what was revealed.
