PlayStation Pro vs PSVR: Which Console Should You Upgrade To?

Sony's Playstation 4 Pro has been officially announced and it is expected to change the gaming world with its cool new features. Along with that announcement is the upcoming release of the Sony's PSVR on October 13.

Sony PlayStation 4 Pro Release

The Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro will be released on November 10, just a month later than the Sony's PSVR. This announcement took place after a Sony meeting.  Although this might not have been a good move for Sony as this would look like they unintentionally pitted both devices against each other.

Years ago, when we were still children, the idea of holding a VR headset or even owning one of our own seemed like a far-fetched dream. One that we only see in movies the way it was suggested in classic 90's movies and cartoons like "Back to the Future" or "The Jetsons."

Sony PlayStation 4 Pro Upgrade vs. Sony PSVR Experience

Tech and gaming experts suggest that Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro doesn't have that much of a strong case against Sony's PSVR. These statements actually make sense seeing that Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro is merely just an upgrade from the Sony PlayStation 4.

According to a report published on Forbes, the Sony PlayStation 4 Pro and PSVR being released just a month apart makes it look like it was a decision not assessed properly. Both devices are not promoting a tandem release; instead, the separate release may suggest that Sony is competing against its own product.

Sony was probably aiming to compete with Microsoft's Xbox One S as the PlayStation 4 Pro supports 4K and a Blu-ray player. The Sony Playstation 4 Pro supports a new virtual reality platform, but what is another device that supports and offers a new virtual reality platform as well? That's right, it's Sony's PSVR.

Yes, there is a significant difference between the PS4 and the new PS4 Pro. The fact that the Pro can handle VR games and run it on a minimum of 60fps to avoid motion sickness or lags, this is an evident factor that the original PS4 does not have.

The PlayStation 4 Pro is not only enhanced in the aspect of design and accessories, the PS4 Pro also offer features that are Playstation 4 "Pro-enhanced". Better frame rates and higher resolutions are just two of the many exciting highlights in the Sony PS4 Pro.

Yet, despite all the fresh new features promised in the Sony PS4 Pro, the Sony PSVR still wins this round seeing that you don't just have to sit and play. With the Sony PSVR, you just slap it on your head you are taken somewhere else by the little screen flashing images before your eyes.

There are no news about PSVR games yet, but the list of games that you can play on the Sony PS4 has already been released, Trusted Reviews reports.
