'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Spoilers, News And Updates: Nina Dobrev Returns As Elena? Reunites With First Love Stefan?

Nina Dobrev's return has been highly anticipated by fans of the hit series "The Vampire Diaries." This time, an Instagram post triggered speculations that Dobrev will be coming back as Elena and might reunite with her first love, Stefan. Will she cause trouble to Stefan and Caroline?

Ever since the news broke that Nina Dobrev will be making a comeback for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, fans have been expecting to see her character, Elena to reunite with Damon (Ian Somerhalder). However, that may not be case as actor/director Paul Wesley, who portrays Stefan, recently posted a photo on Instagram.

The photo reveals that Wesley will be directing one of the episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. In the said photo, a girl seems to resemble Dobrev. This sparked rumors that Elena will be reuniting with her first love, Stefan and not Damon.

It can be recalled that Elena and Stefan were the first to fall in love in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 1. Things took a different turn when fans noticed the undeniable chemistry between Dobrev and Somerhalder.

However, if Elena reunites with Stefan in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, many fans of "Steroline" (Stefan and Caroline) might be disappointed. It was said that things seem to be very stable between the two in the final season.

Meanwhile, Damon appears to be turning to the dark side when "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 returns. Rumors claim that Damon will be back to his old ways of hunting humans. This could possibly lead to Elena rescuing him and probably rekindle their relationship.

Will it be an Elena and Stefan reunion? Or will Elena and Damon hit it off again? For now, fans will have to wait for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 premiere to answer all speculations.
