‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 News & Updates: Nina Dobrev’s Return Confirmed; Show's Finale Relives Season 1

The nearing premiere of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 8 sets fans into frenzy as Nina Dobrev’s controversial comeback is official and more character downfalls are expected.

Nina Dobrev As Katherine Pierce
In a previous report of iTech Post, despite Ian Somerhalder’s protest of Dobrev’s return on the show, “The Vampire Diaries” executive producer and writer Julie Plec is pleased that Dobrev stays true with her promise of returning for the show’s finale.

To recall, Somerhalder and Dobrev’s reunion on the series is speculated to cause conflicts on the former’s marriage with Nikki Reed. While Dobrev remains mum on the issue, it seems that her focus is to give joy and entertainment to the fans with her presence on the last season. Sadly, no Delena moments will be featured as Dobrev is anticipated to play the role of Katherine Pierce instead.

Titles For Season 8, Episodes 1 – 3 Unveiled

Spoilers have it. The titles for the finale’s episodes 1, 2 and 3 were revealed, hence excitement of the show’s long time supporters intensified.

It is noteworthy that EP Plec relives the first season of the series by naming the first three episodes of season 8 with season 1’s catchy phrases.

Episode 1 takes the “Hello, Brother” title. Such greeting was made by Damon to Stefan in the first season. We’re smiling a face – off here.
Episode 2 is titled “Today Will Be Different.” This note came from Elena Gilbert’s (Nina Dobrev) diary after the sorrowful death of her parents. Now, this is a clear green light that Nina is really back on the show.

Lastly, episode 3's title is "You Decided That I Was Worth Saving" a phrase from Season 1's finale. Are we seeing a brotherly love here as Stefan saves Damon?

Let’s reminisce the good old days. “The Vampire Diaries” culminates on October 21.
