Nintendo NX May Be Unveiled At Nintendo Direct Event: Rumor Round-Up

Ever since it was announced, the Nintendo NX has become infamous because Nintendo has been incredibly tight-lipped about any details. And while there has been a wave of rumors surrounding how the console will look and work, there are also questions surrounding when and how Nintendo will release the same.

Nintendo NX: The Secrecy

Game Skinny recently had the chance to sit down with Nintendo of Canada's communications manager Andrew Collins. Prior to the interview, Collins said that any questions regarding the NX would result in a shorter conversation. Therefore, it is safe to assume that the secrecy surrounding the console is a very tactical and well thought of process.

While this explains why multiple game publishers and developers have been praising the Nintendo NX without giving any actual details about the same, it is in stark contrast to reports that Nintendo was going to start giving fans more details about its upcoming consoles.

Nintendo Direct

One thing that Collins was willing to discuss, however, is just how the company makes use of Nintendo Direct. "Nintendo Directs are actually presented to the communications teams much closer to their release," he said.

Afterwhich, he touched on a Nintendo Direct that will take place soon, which will discuss "Animal Crossing: New Leaf."

What About The Nintendo NX?

What is questionable about the interview is that Game Skinny had to make an edit to the same after its initial publishing. The edit, as noted by Gaming Bolt, did in fact discuss the Nintendo NX.

"Nintendo is not ready to discuss [the NX] yet," Collins reportedly said. "Once we are, Nintendo will most likely hold a Nintendo Direct in the future - before launch - to discuss it."

And while the statement has since been retracted, it remains unclear why it was. It could be because the comment was inaccurate, or it could be because of Nintendo's apparent stringent practices.
