Dead By Daylight DLC To Add Michael Myers As Part Of 'Halloween' Theme

Since Halloween is coming soon, Behavior Digital Inc. released a teaser of an upcoming DLC which will include characters from the horror movie "Halloween" by John Carpenter. Players that will buy the DLC for $7 will be able to play as Michael Myers, the masked psychopath, as the killer and Laurie Strode, the "final girl", as a survivor.

Dead by Daylight is an indie horror game created by Behavior Digital Inc. released last June. It is a survival multiplayer game where an unstoppable killer aims to hunt down four survivors in a horrific game of cat and mouse.

Play The Game As Michael Myers

According to an article from GameRant, developers at Behaviour Interactive have spent significant efforts to ensure that the in-game models of both characters move and act similarly to their movie counterparts. In the game, Myers will have two phases that affect his gameplay.

First is a weaker and slower version of the killer, with increased detection skills. His character will have a gauge, in form of his "obsession" that will increase whenever Myers is looking at a survivor. Maxing the gauge will trigger Myers' second phase in which he gains speed and power, but loses detection skills.

Halloween DLC Content

The Dead by Daylight DLC will also include a map of the eerie and haunting neighbourhood of Haddonfield, Illinois where "Halloween" took place. The environment will include new obstacles and hiding spots, such as suburban houses and cop cars. The DLC will also include the original soundtrack used in the film.

The announcement of the DLC increased the novelty value of Dead by Daylight, since the gameplay mechanics and ambiance is similar to classic horror movie plots. Depending on how the developers take advantage of the game, they could include other famous horror characters and create interesting game modes.
