Pokemon Go Update: Lowering The Candy Requirement Per Evolution; Should Niantic Consider?

Pokemon Go applies a unique mechanic on how to evolve a Pokemon. The augmented reality game uses a particular Pokemon candy instead of the usual level requirement. It might be a fresh and efficient approach to the fans since all they have to do is to collect the required candy for evolution and will not be required to grind a Pokemon to reach a certain level to evolve. However, some trainers felt like the candy requirements are a little bit too much and suggest that Niantic should lower the number.

According to the report from Otakukart, the starter Pokemon Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle each requires a total of 125 candies in order to reach their final form. To break it up, 25 candies will be allocated for the first evolution and 100 candies for the second one. In addition, powering them up also need a certain amount of candies.

Acquiring a particular Pokemon candy is by catching them in the wild, evolving and transferring. Both evolving and capturing a wild Pokemon will give you three candies while transferring them to the professor will give you one Pokemon candy. In addition, hatching some eggs and walking the Buddy Pokemon will grant you free Pokemon candies. The only way to farm a high amount of Pokemon candies is to repeatedly perform these steps which is a little bit tiring and boring.

Lucky for those trainers who lived near the nests or their house is near urban areas where Pokemon spawns are higher. It is also advantageous for those players who walk in a daily routine since they can simultaneously hatch a Pokemon egg on the go. However, majority of the people in all areas do not have that kind of luxury and sometimes they are fed up with the idea of Pokemon constantly escaping from the PokeBall.

If Niantic considers this idea, it would be somehow fair to the majority of the fans living near the rural areas. Additionally, it would be a lesser burden to the fans everytime they decide to grind some Pokemon candies.
