Pokemon Go News And Update: Extra Bonus Candies On Buddy Pokemon, Is It Possible?

Recently, the buddy update for Pokemon Go has made trainers go hand-in-hand with their chosen pocket monsters. However, news are circulating that there is chance to find two candies while walking with a Pokemon Buddy. If this is indeed true, how many candies can trainers get for walking a buddy pokemon?

Trainers has to know that Niantic did not make an official announcement whether trainers will be given extra candies. There were just noticeable occurrences of this according to trainers. The distance that needs to be covered by Buddy Pokemon ranges from 1 kilometer, 3 kilometers, or 5 kilometers. It also depends on the specie of the Pokemon Buddy. When the needed distance is met, the Pokemon Buddy will find one candy. According to Heavy, Reddit user mikesierrafox discovered that his Graveler got two candies within an eight-minute interval. Thus, it seems like one of the candies was a bonus one. Additional testimony supported the previous claim. Some trainers said that their Buddy Pokemon found two candies exactly after completing a certain distance. However, the pattern, as to when this happens, is not yet identified. Other trainers are also saying that the more the Buddy Pokemon walks, the more chances that it will find an extra candy.

Some trainers said that maybe the extra candy is connected to hatching an egg. One redditor said that his Growlithe was able to find two candies after walking for 12 kilometers. He also mentioned about hatching two 10 kilometer eggs during that time. In contrast, another Redditor claimed that he was simultaneously hatching eggs and walking Growlithe, yet he did not find bonus candies. A redditor from Southeast Asia suspected that this may just be due to a coding bug or tracking error where the candy finding gets triggered twice. In conclusion, finding an extra candy can sometimes happen. However, this just happens at random possibilities.
