Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare 'Zombies in Spaceland' Backstory

Infinity Wards has continuously updated players about the progress of their upcoming title, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The trailer for the new Zombie Mode was release a few months ago and recently, a 26-minute clip was uploaded showing the story and gameplay for the said gameplay mode.

According to an article from GameRant, the new game mode titled Zombies in Spaceland will cater four new characters that are based on "1980's Archetypes:" Andre, the hip-hop guru; Poindexter, the nerd; Sally, the valley girl; and AJ, the jock.

The video began with a back story, showing how the four playable characters in the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Zombie mode volunteered to be actors for a shady director named Willard Wyler. After agreeing to join his new piece, "Zombies in Spaceland," the four players are warped back into the 80's. They awaken to a zombie-infested theme park and started to destroy the zombies in a shoot-em-up fashion. The whole cutscene was animated like a cartoon show.

After the introduction, the footage cuts to the gameplay of Zombies in Spaceland with some of the developers from Infinity Wards. The Call of Duty developers talked about how the characteristics of each of the characters change the way they attack or move in the game.

One of the new mechanics introduced in the video was the ATM system. According to GamingBolt, this system allows players to deposit their earnings so that they can keep it even after they die. This feature adds a new twist on "grinding" earnings throughout the game.

The developer also talked about the new after-life feature, and how they made it in a way that players won't simply be spectating when they are killed. The developers also introduced and discussed some of the zombie monsters in the game, and how to utilize the traps for the effectively.

While the footage might have shown what the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Zombie Mode would be, it could be safe to assume that there might be more in stock for when the game is officially released. The game will be officially released on Nov. 4.
