'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Game Informer Cover Reveals An Unknown Female Character

Mass Effect: Andromeda is on the cover of the Game Informer December 2016. What is more interesting is that it features not Shepherd nor any of the recognizable characters from the franchise, but an unknown helmeted woman. Who is this mystery character?

What Role Does The Mystery Mass Effect: Andromeda Character Play?

"A new hero rises to save humanity," the photo reads. While this may seem to point toward Ryder, the protagonist of the upcoming title, there is evidence that she is not the one seen in the photo. Developers have previously reiterated that Ryder is not N7, which the character in the cover clearly is.

Some speculations suggest that the woman in the Mass Effect: Andromeda Game Informer cover is "femShep," which is the female version of the protagonist Shepherd. There is also a guess that it is Ryder herself once she becomes N7. However, none can be confirmed at this point.

Not much is known about the N7, but more information is expected to come on Nov. 7, which is the annual holiday of the franchise. Before then, nothing is expected to be answered.

Mass Effect: Andromeda Game Informer Cover Features Asari

Another interesting find in the leaked Game Informer December cover is the Asari behind the character. At this point, it is being believed that the alien is going to be a part of the squad.

"That Asari is plastered everywhere, I'm beginning to wonder if it is a Raccoon Liara 2.0," one user in this Reddit thread noted. "I'm pretty sure she is a squaddie."

Several others agreed, but each one presents their own interpretation of the Mass Effect: Andromeda art. Again, any of their speculations cannot be confirmed. Good news is that Nov. 7 is almost at hand. Players only have to wait a few more days to get more information and to join the Andromeda Initiative.
