Marvel's Latest Superhero Movie Review: 'Doctor Strange' Doesn't Belong To Marvel Universe?

Movies under the Marvel Universe have always been a few of the most anticipated supernatural movies all year, and they recently just released a new on entitled "Doctor Strange." However, some reviews have claimed that his character does not rightfully belong to the Marvel Universe at all.

Who Is Doctor Strange And How Did He Acquire His Supernatural Existence?

It has already been affirmed how risky introducing the existence of Doctor Strange was into the Marvel Universe, as opposed to those already existing and very well-known superheroes. The notion of the existence of a multiverse and the idea of having energies pulled from other dimensions may be a little too much to grasp, but has indeed become necessary into the storyline after all. Thus creates the existence of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) in the newly released move of the same name, "Doctor Strange."

His story began as an arrogant but brilliant surgeon who suddenly lost his ability to perform surgeries after a car accident has damaged his hands. This has then begun his quest to heal himself lead him to discover and develop the powers that allowed him to become a powerful sorcerer, with powers derived from the energy of the universe as initially explained earlier. "Doctor Strange" marked the Marvel's expansion into creatures in other dimensions which were merely only hinted on previous films.

Obtaining Powers From Mystical Spells In Alternate Universes Makes Doctor Strange Unfit For The Marvel Universe?

However, some critics may have viewed this concept and origin of "Doctor Strange" to be unfit for the Marvel Universe. As it can be recalled, Marvel superheroes gain their power from scientific experiments or technology at its finest. The concept of gaining powers through mystical creatures and explanations from an alternate universe sounds more like a plotline for the DC Universe rather than Marvel's. The powers of Doctor Strange were stemmed from spells, articrafts and the like which is highly unusual for a Marvel storyline. This then has led them to believe that his being is not fit for the Marvel universe.
