Guardians of the Galaxy is slated to become the official title of the upcoming game from Telltale Games.
Apparently, The Video Game aka Blue Harvest is a fake working title. The new title has reportedly been officially confirmed which will also be in time for the cinematic release of the movie title in April 2017.
Based on the title, Telltale Games' next game would reportedly be based on Guardians of the Galaxy. Previous reports have speculated that the game would be unveiled at the Game Awards before the year ends. Telltale Games titles have received their first trailers in ceremonies in previous years.
Furthermore, Telltale Games upcoming episodic game has reportedly popped up on a number of projects that are affected by the ongoing US voice actor-strike, Guardians of the Galaxy. Previous reports claimed that the title would be Blue Harvest. However, the most recent reports debunked the rumors just as Star Wars: Return of the Jedi was also rumored to be the title of Telltale's upcoming game.
It remains to be known whether the game will follow Guardians of the Galaxy in the Marvel's comics or as shown in the big screen cinematic version. However, the latter option is said to be timely due to the upcoming release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 next year. The upcoming game may then act as a companion to the films.
Meanwhile, the announcement from Telltale Games concerning the new Marvel-based game was reportedly made back in April 2015. Leaked reports would later reveal that it would be based on Guardians of the Galaxy. This is also said to be supported with documents from the ongoing strike by the the voice actors union.
The Guardians of the Galaxy game by Telltale Games was reportedly spotted on SAG-AFTRA's site listing numerous in-development video game projects. Furthermore, it is believed that Telltale would officially unveil the title at the Game Awards on Dec.1.
