2017 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Off-Roader Joins The Pickup Wars

After two years of preparation, the 2017 Chevy Colorado ZR2 is ready to join the pickup wars. The new off-road warrior is set to make its debut at the LA Auto Show 2016 a couple of days from now. With this, the Toyota Tacoma may need to watch out as a new warrior rises to take the undisputed champion on.

The 2017 Chevy Colorado ZR2's Monster Under The Hood

The Truth About Cars reported that the 2017 Chevy ZR2 have options for both diesel and gas engines that will be pared with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission. An output of 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque is set for the 3.6-liter V6 gas engine, while the diesel engine puts out 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. With the specs given, it is also expected that the 2017 Chevy ZR2 will not just be an off-road monster but a formidable on-road vehicle as well.

The New Warrior's Feature

In a report given by Autoblog, it was stated that the Multimatic Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve (DSSV) shocks that allow precise shock tuning is considered as one of the biggest features of the 2017 Chevy Colorado ZR2, a feature also found in the Camaro Z/28. This prevent the shocks from softening up when going over big bumps at high speed and will also allow the ZR2 to low speed tight run over smoother roads. Among other features include ABS, throttle response and traction control recalibration from its off-road button.

On A League Of Its Own

It would seem that the new warrior is on a league of its own. "You can go rock crawling on Saturday, desert running on Sunday and comfortably drive to work on Monday," said Mark Dickens, director of performance variants for Chevrolet in a report given by Trucks. Dickens also stated that the 2017 Chevy Colorado ZR2 is capable of doing it all and doing it well.
