Xbox Project Scorpio Price Expectations And More

Xbox Head, Phil Spencer, has something to offer to their gamers supporting Xbox One as Microsoft has finally announced the price of their biggest high-end gaming console next year, the Project Scorpio. Since the day that it was introduced to the public, gamers were so intrigued or perhaps excited about what the upcoming gaming console could bring. Project Scorpio is said to be the most powerful console to arrive by 2017.

According to the report from Game Rant, there are few speculations as to where would Project Scorpio's price range settle. Some gaming enthusiasts expect that the future gaming console from Microsoft would carry a premium tag, and today Phil Spencer confirmed those previous speculations and assumptions.

While it is expected that Project Scorpio would be expensive, however, it seems like Spencer's comments are just to prepare gamers for the inevitable price of the upcoming gaming console. As of now, most gamers settled on a console with a prices $350 or cheaper, however that is expected to change when Project Scorpio arrives. According to Spencer, Project Scorpio will cost more than the current Xbox One S.

Additionally, Project Scorpio is still a closed system. That means it does not acquire one of the key benefits in PC gaming which are upgrades. If Microsoft will do some tweaks on the design, the console would still be locked on a particular performance level and gamers will still be unable to upgrade. On the other hand, PC gamers were given freedom to upgrade at their bank account's discretion.

If Project Scorpio will really be a closed system, the question is how much will it cost? Based on Spencer's comments, Project Scorpio will start at a $500 price point and it is highly expected that the console would cost beyond that point. However, it would be a great exchange as Project Scorpio will be delivering a gaming experience similar to that of a $1000 PC. Apparently, some say that with a device that expensive, it is not really that appealing to the market.
