"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 Finale

TV Line has revealed that "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will finally have its cast member do the curtain call on March 10, 2017. A week after that, its spinoff "The Originals" season 4 will take the TVD's 8:00 p.m. ET time slot on The CW. Barely four months before the series finale, some plot details leading to the end of the show are slowly being uncovered. For one, Caroline (Candice King) and Alaric's (Matt Davis) nanny Seline (Kristen Gutoskie) had been revealed to be the ominous sister of siren Sybil (Nathalie Kelley). Another recent revelation was the departure of Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) after Damon (Ian Somerhalder) attacked him.

The Fate Of Elena Gilbert

Since season 8 started to air, there has been constant mention of hell. Thus, the freedom of Sybil from the vault after hundreds of years. It was revealed that Sybil and Seline killed Arcadius (Wole Parks) who believed Sybil is the Devil. With Georgie's (Allison Scagliotti) demise, fans have seen the same after death situation with Katherine (Nina Dobrev) when she died back in season 5.

In 2014, showrunner Caroline Dries disclosed that all these years Katherine is just somewhere in the "Dark World." There has been no direct confirmation if the "Dark World" she was talking is the actual Hell where Sybil has been sending souls. Given this plot at hand, will Nina Dobrev be back as Katherine and not as Elena Gilbert? There's no confirmation as of now.
