Keep in mind that the only way to level up your clan is through warring and so, it's an inevitable fact that you need to wage war in order for your clan to grow. Now, it's widely known that the more you win wars, the faster your clan levels up since obviously, winning rakes up more experience than losing. But here's the catch, there's actually another way to boost your clan's experience faster, even if you're losing your battles.

Base on the chart, you can clearly see that the major factor that influences the experience gain of your clan is the size. The greater the war size, the greater the value of experience you gain. Even if you lose in a 50 vs 50 war, if you manage to get at least 1 star in every base, the total experience that your clan nets is almost twice as more than winning a battle in a 20 vs 20 war size. Remember that winning a war only gives you the +50 EXP bonus and the loot. Even if you lose, you'd still get the EXP Per base + the destruction bonus.
Now, you may find it hard to get as much players as possible to join the war. The easiest method to do so is to join groups and communities from social media and recruit as many members as possible - even those that are new ones; as long the half of you managed to score a minimum of 1-Star on every base.
