“Haikyuu!!” Season 3 has just aired its 10th and the final episode titled “The Volleyball Idiots”. It focused on the last few moments of the final set of the match between Karasuno High and Shiratorizawa Academy. With the teams in a deuce, Karasuno currently leads, gaining them the match point 19-20.

With Karasuno struggling as their stamina depletes and their legs finally reaching their limits, they give their all in the last ball. Hinata Shoyo serves and Kageyama Tobio exchanges position with him as soon as Shiratorizawa receives the ball. The volleying lasted for three rounds with Shiratorizawa ruthlessly giving heavy attacks while Karasuno continued to recklessly receive with the every ounce of their strength.

Karasuno played a game plan, which Tsukishima Kei told them to do. They intended to completely block out Wakatoshi Ushijima’s attacks with three people to initiate their next strategy. The gameplay was to lure out Ushijima out of his comfort zone and disrupt the flow in Shiratorizawa’s game.

In the final moment, Karasuno launches they synch strategy where every player positions for a spike, confusing the opponent and deceiving them with an unknown synchronized attack. Hinata spikes the ball, which Kageyama flawlessly sets. The attack went barely went through Shiratorizawa with one of the players grazing the ball, which they were not able to connect.

And there Karasuno took the fifth and final match with 19-21 and won the game, beating the best powerhouse volleyball team in the Miyagi region. Out of words, the Karasuno volleyball players, as well as their cheerers, were in tears out of sheer joy for beating Shiratorizawa and for qualifying for the nationals. Despite that, it seems like Tsukishima was still unsatisfied with his performance and silently vowed to give a better performance.

Shiratorizawa, on the other hand, who did not doubt their strength was left in shock. They did not expect to lose the match especially against Karasuno, who was just an inexperienced volleyball team that got through grueling matches with other powerhouses. The players of Shiratorizawa could not hold back and in disbelief eventually broke down in tears, unwilling to accept the fact that they of all teams have been defeated and that this year, they will not be playing in the nationals.

Shiratorizawa’s Satori Tendo and Ushijima gets into a deep talk about what just happened and the latter admitted that in the last points of the final match, he was on fire launching attacks at Karasuno because he wanted to tell them he was stronger than any of the players of Karasuno. Satori consoles him by telling him that such is not a childish thing to do. Satori further tells him that he will be quitting volleyball after high school and that he will be cheering on for Ushijima, who will pursue a career as a professional volleyball player with the country’s national team.

Before heading out, Ushijima approaches Hinata and Kageyama and told them that he will defeat them next time. The two Karasuno players acknowledged Ushijima’s strength and took on his challenge. The story headed on to show Karasuno preparing for the nationals, which will be held in Tokyo, as they put up posters for donations and continued with their practices.

Meanwhile, Kageyama is suddenly scouted to train for the National Youth Intensive Training Camp after being spotted for his skills shown at the recent televised match between Karasuno and Shiratorizawa. Though the entire team is excited about this opportunity, this might lead to Kageyama neglecting the team or even moving on to greener pasture.

"Haikyuu!!" Season 3 ends here and an announcement has yet to be made whether or not “Haikyuu!!” will be getting another season. There are rumors saying that a fourth season is being planned to release in 2017.
