Everyone is excited for the upcoming Nintendo Switch. Nintendo's new console is weird, intriguing, and genuinely new. Unlike the Xbox Scorpio and PS4 Pro, the Switch is a genuine attempt to do something quite new to the concept of a video game console, as well as something that we haven't seen since the original Wii.
Problems with the Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo Switch's initial reveal trailer really raised a lot of questions than it had answers. Based on the teaser, it showed off a design that most of us had a general idea about, but there is some very important information that is not there yet. So as we wait for the upcoming Nintendo event this January 2017 to further clarify the Switch, let's consider some potential problems that the console might encounter
Third-Party Support
By now, we are fully aware that the Nintendo Switch is going to get Skyrim. We've also got a nice big list of other developers who are currently working with the platform. But let us also consider that third-party support was a weakness for both the Wii and the Wii U, and Nintendo is still not yet in the position where it can support its own development. With that being said, there are plenty of doubt that some other big name titles will be incorporated on the Switch.
Battery Life
A definite big one. Though the Nintendo Switch would appear to be a powerful machine for the size that also doesn't come cheap, power-wise. With that being said, people are demanding that the Nintendo Switch would be a machine that gives them 5+ hours of playing time. Anything shorter than that time would be a problem.
Is the main feature necessary?
The idea of having full console-style games on the go is nothing new. It sounds like a great idea since we all love playing these games at home, and we'd love them just as much to be played on the go. But come to think of it, we are used to playing them at home. So most of the time we wouldn't really have the time to play them on the go since we feel more comfortable playing it at home. The big question now is, is the main feature of the Nintendo Switch, which is portability, really that necessary? You decide.
