Pokemon Go Update: How Santa Hat Pikachu Differ From Regular Pikachu

In 2016, Pokemon Go's launching indeed became phenomenal and the trend went on for a longer period of time. Pokemon Go players were given a true surprise last month when Niantic released numerous updates last Dec. 2016. It included Gen2 as Baby Pokemon that were not available through hatching. There is also an ongoing special Holiday event and a nest migration during the event.

There is a noticeable Special Pikachu that has a Santa Hat. There is a difference between a Santa Pikachu and a Normal Pikachu. Reddit user BlueRing has made a comparison about the Santa Pikachu and the normal Pikachu. It was figured out that there were no notable difference between the two, except for the Santa Hat. The comparison tells us how both of the Pikachu are truly amazing, as reported by Otaku Kart.

This festive item that they have added to the game gave many Pikachu Santa Hats to celebrate the holiday season. Numerous Pikachu have also transformed so players may like to take their chances in catching a Pikachu and stocking up on Pikachu candies which are needed for more upgrades and evolutions.

Typically, when Pikachu is evolved, it turns into Raichu. However in this update, once the players choose to evolve their Santa Hat Pikachu, they will not be disappointed. According to Forbes, the new Raichu will be able to keep this hat, and Niantic made sure that Pikachu and Raichu will get to keep their hats even after the event.

The Santa Hat Raichu is a rare special edition Pokemon. Niantic made mention that Santa Hat Pikachu will only be available until Dec. 29, but the Gen2 babies will be staying.
