Could Huawei Mate 9 Pro Nab This Year's Best Phablet Title?

The Pro wouldn't differ enough from other Huawei phones to affect the list. And in so many ways the differences between the Mate 9 Pro and Mate 9 aren't radical. Now Huawei has gone and changed all that, with the announcement of the Mate 9 Pro: a Porsche Design doppelgänger and looks more than a bit of the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge.

That means a 5.5-inch (2560 x 1440; QHD) screen, stunning curved edges, Afront-placed fingerprint scanner and with physical home button, alongside off-screen capacitive buttons. It's available in white or silver only. The Pro offers the same dual lens arrangement as part of its Leica partnership. That means one 12MP color and one 20MP black and white snapper, both with f/2.2 aperture and 27mm equivalent focal length. Under the hood is a 4,000mAh cell in the Pro is massively capacious.

Huawei Mate 9 Pro Specs

For the specs, the Pro sports the latest Kirin 960 quad-core processor and Mali-G71 graphics processor. It's more powerful, although the actual specs are somewhat still up in the air: Huawei tells us that the phone will come with whopping of 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, but the models on show at this year's CES show floor were furnished with 4GB RAM and 64GB on-board storage.

And we think it's far better looking than the larger Mate 9. Well, this so-called Pro or phablet model should have just been the Mate 9 all along. Huawei's Mate 9 is still a fantastic phone, the release of the upgraded version, the Mate 9 Pro, may have surprised a number of people on how the company made the latter even better just by improving on little things. It just simply one of the best phablet to rock this year.
