Apple Rolls Out MacOS Sierra 10.12.3 Update With Battery Fix

Apple has released the MacOS Sierra 10.12.3 update that comes with graphics fixes for the new MacBook Pro as well as a fix for the Safari bug that affected MacBook Pro battery life.

According to MacWorld, on Monday, Jan. 23, Apple rolled out its MacOS Sierra update 10.12.3. This new version of Apple's operating system includes a number of updates that owners of the new MacBook Pro will need, as well as updates for all Mac users.

This update should fix the Safari bug that affected the MacBook Pro, even if this is not specifically noted in the release notes. The Safari bug has been discovered by Consumer Reports during testing of the new MacBook Pro 2016. The battery life tests gave wildly varying results. A bug in Safari that affected battery life has been discovered after a follow-up with Apple.

Other Fixes And Improvements

According to Apple, the Sierra 10.12.3 update also includes improvements to the automatic graphics switching for the 2016 model of the 15-inch MacBook Pro released last October. Adobe Premiere Pro users who encountered a glitch while using the new 13- or 15-inch MacBook Pro have also the issue solved by the new update.

According to Tech Crunch, the MacOS Sierra 10.12.3 update also comes with other minor fixes and important security updates. Among these minor fixes are included the fix for an issue that prevented the searching of scanned PDF documents in Preview, the fix of an issue that prevented third-party apps from correctly importing digital images from cameras and the resolving of a compatibility issue with PDF documents exported with enabled encryption.

Users of Apple's operating system can update to the latest version by downloading the 10.12.3 version from the Mac App Store. The latest version of Apple's MacOS Sierra is already available for download since Monday, Jan. 23.
