Injustice 2 Update: Poison Ivy, Black Canary And Bane Joins The Roster

Following the announcement posted on the official website of Injustice 2, NetherRealms studios finally released a gameplay trailer today, which highlights the combat abilities of Black Canary. She will be joining the official set of roster for the upcoming superhero action game. In addition, the company also confirms the addition of Brainiac, Bane and Poison Ivy to the game's roster.

According to the report from Game Rant, NetherRealm Studios is now starting to finalize the roster for Injustice 2 as the game has only a few months before its official launch. The report mentioned that NetherRealm updated the official site today which adds the previously reported characters such as Poison Ivy, Bane, and Brainiac as playable characters.

Meanwhile, Black Canary's gameplay trailer features her battle with several titans in DC Universe. This includes Atrocitus, Brainiac and more. Attack of the Fanboy reported that Black Canary uses various technology-based attacks, some striking acts of athleticism and her signature move called the "Canary Cry" scream. As seen on the video, it looks like Black Canary will be considered as one of the faster characters in the game. Furthermore, she also possesses various MMA-inspired grappling moves on her sleeves.

With Black Canary's addition, she is now joining a couple of DC characters making their franchise debut as playable characters in Injustice 2. Meanwhile, Supergirl's addition is considered to be important since she plays a critical role in the game's plot.

On the other hand, Black Canary's role might not be quite as essential as Supergirl, however, fans are given a hint of her role with the newly launched gameplay trailer. As seen on the trailer, Black Canary is in a battle with Blue Bettle, who wants to team up with Batman by defeating her. Alternatively, the conversation between the two regarding Batman might just be one of the off-the-cuff lines the characters say before engaging into a battle, so it does not certainly have to be something knotted with the game's plot. Injustice 2 is scheduled to arrive on May 16 for Android, iOS, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
