Rogers Motorola RAZR Starts Getting Jelly Bean Update

Motorola launched the RAZR XT910 handset in Oct. 2011 and now Canadian carrier Rogers is rolling out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean software update to the handset.

Users on Canadian carrier Fido are already rocking their Motorola RAZR on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean software and now Rogers is also following suit.

"Earlier this week Fido users reported that Jelly Bean arrived on their Motorola RAZR. Now a few days later it's Rogers customers finally receiving the upgrade to Android OS 4.1.2," reports Mobile Syrup.

Google released Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in July 2012 and the Nexus 7 was the first device to run on the software. Later, Google started releasing the software update to various smartphones and tablets. The software update brings various enhancements and bug fixes. The update brings "Project Butter" to the device, which provides a smoother user interface.

A software update is expected to bring enhancements and improvements to devices; however, some updates don't go as planned and after updating, many smartphone users think that they should not have opted for a software update. Something similar has happened with the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean software update for the Motorola RAZR.

"Got the update on my droid razr. Can no longer USB TETHER, now have to pah another 30$ a month for that feature. Also phone will not charge when its powered on. DO NOT UPGRADE. And internet is slow and annoying," complained a user on iTech Post.

If you have the RAZR XT910, you should have been notified but if not, then press Menu >> Settings >> About phone >> System software updates >> Check now.

Have you received the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update on your Motorola RAZR? If you have installed the firmware are you having any issues?
