Android Wear 2.0 Is Ready, Overview On LG Watch Sport

Android Wear 2.0 is such a large change over the last version of Google’s wearable OS. The wearable tech looks more polished and thought out compared to the previous model and. As for a basic list, Google launched in Google Assistant, a support for Android Pay which is not available on Watch Style. Additional to that is the rotating crown design that can be seen on the LG Watch Sport.

Android Wear 2.0 is now available. But the big question is if anybody truly cares regarding Google’s second attempt to win over the smartwatch customers. With Google standards, the Android Wear 2.0 launch was surprisingly low key. There are no fancy presentations, no keynotes, no famous artists, no live singers and certainly no motivational shows.

According to StarkInsider, Google's announcement regarding this news is in the form of formal announcement that came in a blog post authored by a VP of engineering. But after all, Apple trounced all smartwatch makers with an outstanding holiday quarter of Apple Watch sales. At least, that’s according to analyst reports. Apple still doesn’t break out its wearable numbers.

As reported by the Strategy Analytics, in Q4 of the year 2016, Apple took 63 percent share in the global smartwatch markets and shipments. Samsung came in a distant on the second spot at 16 percent. The rest of the products, including smartwatches from the brands such as Motorola, LG, Huawei, Asus, Fossil and Fitbit, are tallied a combined total of 21 percent of share. With that, Google has its work cut out for it.

As of today, the long and anticipated Google and LG tie-up partner smartwatches have finally hit the physical shelves as well as online stores. As reports reviewed and tested the Android wear 2.0 on LG Watch Sport, it goes without saying that the watch is big and one of a kind. It’s the watch that has all the features you can ask for, which brings you everything that Android Wear 2.0 has to offer. It’s also the watch that has all the bulk in a measure. But there’s more to the story here than just its size.

LG Watch Sport Specs

As reported by 9to5Mac, the LG Watch Sport is a bulky smartwatch, but not completely that big as what you think and compare to huge traditional watches. The LG Watch Sport has a larger screen than the LG Watch Style coming in at 1.38 inches. The weight is at 3.2 oz or 89.4 g, with body ratio of 45.4 mm wide, 51.2 mm tall and 14.2 mm thick. It is bigger than the widely-considered-huge LG Watch Urbane 2nd generation.

Compared to another wearable tech, LG Watch Sport has something to boast. The Apple Watch Series 2 38mm aluminum is just 28.2 g, which is roughly just third part f the weight of the LG Watch Sport. But Google makes it completely clear in its marketing video for these two new watches that you should be able to use the LG Watch Sport as a complete replacement for your smartphone in some cases.
