As reported, Ford only stated that the 2018 Ford Expedition will have a new 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that will be even more powerful than the current Expedition that has a 365 horsepower output. It was also mentioned that the powertrain number specs were posted to a Canadian consumer website that is also managed by the automaker but only for a brief moment.
2018 Ford Expedition: The Numbers
According to a report from Motor1, the 2018 Ford Expedition's 3.5-liter V6 engine will be capable of 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. It will be paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox that was co-developed by Ford and General Motors. Accordingly, the transmission will transfer the power through its rear wheel drive (RWD) configuration or all-wheel drive (AWD) setting depending on customers' preference.

Following the leak on the 2018 Ford Expedition's powertrain capability, Ford has not yet confirmed if the information revealed are true. "We don't have approved figures yet. I can't confirm those numbers," said Becky Sanch, a spokesperson from Ford in a report. Despite this, however, fans and enthusiasts now have an idea of the capabilities of the upcoming 2018 Ford Expedition thanks to the leaked information.
