Nier Automata Receives Essential Day One Patch On PS4

Several notable game titles that receive a day one patch. Apparently, Square Enix's action RPG Nier: Automata is one of those. Meanwhile, the upcoming game is slated for March release in the west. However, several fans already granted access to the Japanese version of the game. As seen on the gameplay footage online, it is highly recommended to play the game once it is fully updated.

According to the report from The BitBag, there are only a few things that can be performed in the unpatched version of the game. In addition, screenshots can be taken. However, players are not allowed to record which is understandable since the game is not yet available worldwide.

Based on this Tumblr post, the Nier: Automata update 1.01 is required to progress further in the game. It was reported that if players venture long enough, they will face a complete death. This 1.01 update is the day one patch for those players who secure a copy of the game before February 23.

Furthermore, the Saving Feature for the pre-patched version of the game is very limited. It is why the update needs to be fully mounted. It is also worth noting that players cannot progress further without this patch. As a result, there is no point of trying without the update. The patch notes for 1.01 features several bug fixes, tweaks on game balance and added support for extra content.

On the other hand, the upcoming NieR: Automata 1.02 update has been announced. It is said to be an essential day one patch for the game. The said update is considerably massive, arriving at 2.9 GB in size. Meanwhile, the patch notes state that it only fixes various bugs. However, similar to 1.01, it is possible that there are more improvements in the new patch other than bug fixes.

Nier: Automata is now available in areas like Japan and Asia, while Western countries receive a March 7 release. Surprisingly, the Japanese version of the game features English subtitles, so everyone can play with it. Lastly, the game is set to arrive first on PS4 before eventually arriving in PC.
