Nier Automata Guide: Here's How to Get the 'Final Fantasy XV' Engine Blade

Nier Automata has teamed up with Final Fantasy XV to bring over Noctis's iconic weapon to the hack-and-slash game. Learn how and where to find the Engine Blade in order to use the sword in battle.

Get the Final Fantasy XV Engine Blade in Nier Automata

According to Twinfinite, Noctis's weapon involves playing through the game until reaching a late-game story mission. Here, players will have to escape from the Abandoned Factory. Take note that fans will have to proceed through the level and follow the linear path until they come across a conveyor belt.

They must then go through the crushers (be careful as it can instantly kill the protagonist) until they reach the next tower. From there, they have to go inside the room with more machines inside. Fans must leave using the other door which will lead them outside.

Moving on, they must climb the stairs but also be wary of the various holes on the way up. As players move towards the railing, the camera will pan out which gives them the opportunity to jump atop the crushers. If fans have a hard time trying to reach the crushers, they can double jump and glide on the Pod instead.

Once they reach the end, players will stumble across a chest that houses the iconic Engine Blade. Aside from this, there is a larger chest that players can hack open. It is also worth noting that exploding enemies will start spawning the area once they claim Noctis's weapon.

The Weapon Comes With Its Own Tale

GearNuke reports that the blade has its own story that reflects Final Fantasy XV. The more that players update the weapon, the further they can unlock its story. The plot basically explains the relationship between Noctis and his father, King Regis, and how they yearn to spend more time with each other.

Fans can unlock the weapon during their first playthrough but it will be locked out during their second run if they aim for Ending B. Even so, the Abandoned Factory will unlock during the third playthrough which gives players another chance to snag it. Fans can play Nier Automata on the PS4 and PC.
