Pokemon GO Still Lacking One Game-Changing Monster After Gen 2 Update

Pokemon GO might have brought in a whole new slew of powerful monsters but it is still missing one unique Pokemon. On the other hand, a new study might give some players a reason to download the game again.

Pokemon GO Still Lacks This Monster

The Gen 2 update brought in a lot of new mechanics and features that gave players more reasons to download the game again. Niantic introduced things like the Berry system while giving players another batch of monsters to catch. In spite of this, the mobile game is still missing one Pokemon that can prove to be a game-changer in matches.

Mic reports that some fans are still waiting for the painter Pokemon, Smeargle, to finally make its debut. To those unfamiliar, the said monster is iconic for having the appearance of an artist with its tail acting like a paintbrush. Along with the other new monsters, Smeargle was introduced during the second generation in Gold and Silver.

The most notable thing about this Pokemon is its move, Sketch, which is the only "attack" it knows. In battle, Smeargle uses the move to copy the last move their opponent used. This gave the Pokemon an almost infinite amount of possibilities with its moveset, which is similar to that of a Ditto. Moreover, Smeargle learns Sketch after every 10 levels, thereby giving it the chance to delete an old move for an even better one.

Because of this, some players can create some devastating combos when using Smeargle's Sketch efficiently. If and when the Pokemon manages to reach the mobile game, it would no doubt serve as a powerful contender in the meta. However, Niantic would have to make changes towards Sketch in order to make it work properly in the game.

Stay Fit While Having Fun

That aside, a new study has emerged claiming that Niantic's game is actually good for the player's health, as per BGR. Those who play the mobile title are twice more likely to reach 10,000 steps a day than those who do not. For this reason, the Pokemon game seems like a fun way to get some exercise.

Niantic has yet to reveal any further news about bringing over Smeargle to the game. Those who want to play Pokemon GO can download the game for free on the iOS App Store or Google Play.
