Partnership Between G2A, Gearbox Ends With Bulletstorm Remake

G2A (game key marketplace) and Gearbox (game publisher) have made a huge noise in the gaming industry following a conflict of which they are both involved. Apparently though, the latter is ending its so-called relationship with the former. However, this exit is of a very unique style and it's definitely worth checking.

According to Polygon, Gearbox Publishing is finally calling it quits with G2A and is expected to happen "immediately." The head of the publishing company named Steve Gibson released a statement iterating the decision the company made. It confirms the company's move to exit the relationship they have with the said game key marketplace.

The announcement was made by the publisher along with a remake of a titular title called Bulletstorm. It's basically a special edition and is officially titled Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition, as reported by PlayStationLifeStyle. The decision to do so was made by the company following no movement or action from G2A. And indeed, it's an ironic thing to do after a launching of a game on PC.

Gearbox has already mentioned, a couple of times, that it's not their intention to do so. However, it won't allow supporting a marketplace that won't "make the new public commitment to protecting customers and developers." This has been the very request of the studio since the day the conflict started. The publisher went to explain that they don't directly own G2A, so it's always a wonder as to where exactly the keys (from involved parties outside the publisher) are being retrieved. But as far as they're concerned, they're taking out their products' database.

It's worth noting that Gearbox brought in an ultimatum to G2A, wanting the latter to conduct the aforementioned process. With the help of a popular YouTuber by the name of John "TotalBiscuit Bain, a list of demands have been released. Unfortunately, neither one was met or implemented. Hence it's no wonder if the studio decided to cut its ties off with the marketplace.

Polygon notes that they have just received a response from G2A following the news. Apparently, they were still in the process of settling things with Gearbox. That as soon as things get clear, they will release an official statement explaining their side of the news.
