'13 Reasons Why' Season 2 Spoilers: Hannah Returns, More Narrators, And New Hints Dropped

Netflix show, “13 Reasons Why” have been confirmed for a second season. In light of that, the people behind the said show have revealed what to expect in the new season.

“13 Reasons Why” was released in March 2017 and surprisingly it was a hit series, prompting Netflix to renew it for another season. The story is about a teenager named Clay Jensen who follows through a series of cassette tapes that was recorded by Hannah Baker, a girl he liked and mysteriously committed suicide. Though the first season concluded with an apt ending, Netflix saw that there could be more to the story.

The cast, as well as the executive producers of “13 Reasons Why”, revealed that Hannah will be returning for the second season. Aside from that, fans have been wondering just who will replace Hannah when it comes to the narration. Executive producer Tom McCarthy disclosed that there will probably be more than one narrators in the next season. Series developer Brian Yorkey added that there are 12 kids who have their own versions of the story and people haven’t heard their sides yet.

Actor Dylan Minnette who portrays the role of Clay may have ruled out his character being a narrator in “13 Reasons Why” Season 2 but he did give more hints. He subtly teased that the next installment is leaning towards a time jump in events after he revealed that Clay will be in the new episodes. Minnette shared that the show will pick up few months after the story in the first season and he wants to see his character Clay in a healthier place and battle his demons.

Minnette confirmed that the new season will feature no more cassette tapes for Clay to listen to. The Netflix show, however, garnered criticisms after it showed a mature content of trigger warnings. Actress Katherine Langford who plays Hannah says she’s proud of how they did the show. The production added “13 Reasons Why” Season 2 will not be censored despite criticisms because it will be as important and dark.
