Resident Evil 2 Remake 'Will Be Out From Capcom Soon,' Says Producer
For the fans anticipating the arrival of Resident Evil 2 Remake, they are in for a huge treat. That is because the game is set to be released by Capcom very soon. Here is everything about it in a nutshell.
According to PSU, contrary to what most players and fans alike believe, Resident Evil 2 Remake is actually set to be released sooner. This big reveal was courtesy of Hiroyuki Kobayashi, the series' very own producer. It is worth noting that he has been the main guy since the franchise's creation in 1996. So, in a sense, what he hinted is of significant value and/or meaning.
Kobayashi did not explicitly reveal any specific details about the upcoming game. However, he himself assured the community that the sequel will be out via Capcom. This is really a huge news considering that the last time they did something big was August 2015. It was during that time that the game's first trailer was dropped.
Express, on the other hand, notes that not all Resident Evil 2 Remake fans might be happy at all. Why? That is because the titular Alyson Court, the voice responsible for Claire Redfield, will not be reprising her voice role in the new iteration. This is due to Capcom wanting to go non-union with this brand new project.
Considering the fact that the company is still way too deep in the development process, let alone the finalization of contracts with the business, it might be quite some time before significant progress can be made. But of course, this does not necessarily mean that a possible early release will happen. It is just difficult for the studio to give out a timeline when everything is still being laid out.
ComicBook reports that Resident Evil 2 Remake's original title came on the original PlayStation console back on Jan. 19, 1998. So, if there is truth to this possibility, Capcom might be eyeing a 2018 release. This year, in particular, will be deemed as the 20th anniversary of the franchise. This would make a booster for the title if it gets released during next year.
