No Man's Sky Update: Hello Games' Abandoned Office Rumor Not True After All

Recently, rumors of Hello Games abandoning ship started circulating when an image of an empty office was released online. Many immediately took the rumor as true since the developer is in a crisis right now. However, recent evidence proves that these speculations are false.

No Man's Sky Developer Hello Games Not Abandoning HQ

According to iDigitalTimes, a tweet from the No Man's Sky project composer Paul Wier said that, "Sean is fine and we're all busy on the next patch." This was said as a response to a question about Hello Games' silence and Sean.

Then a more recent tweet on Oct. 13 from No Man's Sky artist Jacob Golding mentioned a "we" going out to the "Walnut Tree Close" street to tend to the girl screaming for help. This implies that they are still actively working in their building in the area.

Where The Rumors Started

Rumors began when users in a Reddit thread started questioning what the seemingly inactive No Man's Sky developer Hello Games is doing. A dedicated Redditor took to their headquarters to see what is going on, but the user was met with an abandoned-looking office.

However, one of the most overlooked piece of information here is that the photo was taken on a Saturday, which means that about any office would look abandoned also. Then a user who replied to a NeoGAF thread claimed they have a connection to Hello Games, the staff of which are working from home due to threats.

Although this is a possible scenario, it does not erase the fact that the headquarters is still not entirely abandoned as previously believed. Golding's tweet is an evidence to that.

However, it is still likely that they are facing some serious problems right now. A follow-up tweet from Weir said that it is up to Sean or Hello Games if they want to talk to the public, hinting that they have something relevant to say.
