Pokemon Go News: Ultima Creator Stopped Playing The Game; Here's Why

Since Pokemon Go was released, numerous players are now inactive in playing the augmented reality game from Niantic. Some say that the hype is over as the developer failed to continually motivate their fans to play the game. In addition, Niantic is said to constantly make bad decisions that greatly affects their players that result to a huge backlash. Currently, it was announced by Ultima creator, Richard Garriott, that he is no longer an active player of Pokemon Go.

According to Gamespot, Garriott was asked on Twitter why he quit playing the famous augmented reality game. Garriott said that there are a number of reasons on why he quit. This includes the game's grind and a lack of convincing content. Based on his Twitter post, he mentioned that Pokemon Go is "steady state end game" which has no real dynamic strategy.

However, even Garriott left, Pokemon Go remains on top according to the latest rankings. Based on the recent report, the game still generates $2 million from its daily micro transactions. Another report claims that Pokemon Go generates $600 million in its first 3 months which no game in history has ever reached that much in a shorter time span.

On the other hand, Pokemon Go's first-ever game event which was a Halloween-themed event is unexpectedly successful in bringing back several of the inactive players. The event runs until tomorrow, Nov. 1. During the event, an increase spawn of ghost type Pokemon is highly anticipated plus an increase in candy bonuses.

Moving forward, The Pokemon Company also teased possible features that are under development for Pokemon Go which includes a potential appearance of the most-awaited multiplayer battle mode. Niantic has released the game back in July with a limited number of present features which also confused some players before.

Meanwhile, Richard Garriott's current project is entitled Shround of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues that is a crowdfunded RPG for PC.
