Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Confirmed As Game Developer Accidentally Leaked The Game In Subway

Rise of the Tomb Raider was met with critical acclaim after its official release in the PlayStation platform. After almost a year of initially being Xbox One exclusive, the latest of Lara Croft's adventure has now returned to Sony PlayStation. Now, after its successful run, developers are now working on for its new sequel. There have been rumors to the new title of the franchise but a careless developer has seemingly divulged everything in a subway.

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Confirmed?

It appears that the upcoming sequel of the critically acclaimed Rise of the Tomb Raider was accidentally leaked by one of its developers in a subway station. It turns out that speculated Shadow of the Tomb Raider was in fact - true; based on the picture that is now circulating on the web. The speculation started when a user named Tripleh280 posted a picture on Reddit which seems to be an upcoming title for the franchise.

Based on the given picture above, albeit blurry, you can still somehow make out the title "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" on it. If you try to zoom in, the words just become more apparent. It's clearly a legit leak from its developers as Shadow of the Tomb Raider has been one of the theorized titles of the game's iteration. Aside from the leaked picture, Kotaku also stated that a source did in fact confirm the detail which was shown in the picture, making it legitimately close to reality.

It is still important to note though that during the development stages of a game, any existing idea can be changed or scrapped out entirely as developers sometimes change their minds frequently. And so, we can expect that the currently title (let's assume it's already true), Shadow of the Tomb Raider may change in the future. With regards to the alleged leak, Square Enix has yet to respond with any official statement.

Lastly, during Kotaku's interview with Tripleh280, the user said: "I'm from Montreal, QC. I was going downtown for work and I took a quick snap. I really would love to say more but other than the title, the rest was blurry from where I was."

Based on the conversation, you may be wondering, how come a developer from Crystal Dynamics, which was situated in San Francisco, be in Montreal? Well, for those of you that have yet to read the changes behind Lara Croft's development team, it was announced that Eidos Montreal will now supervised the development of the new iteration of the franchise.

Take note that Eidos Montreal is the developer behind the successful Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Let's just hope though that the studio will still be able to keep new updates for the game while still working on the new Lara Croft adventure.
